Items collected include new and gently used coats, hats, scarves, boots, snow pants, and other winter clothing for both adults and children.

Maddie Bozik of North Aurora founded the nonprofit Maddie’s Mitten March in 2008 when she was just 10 years old. Inspired by classmates who lacked mittens and gloves, she launched a mitten drive that eventually grew into a full winter clothing drive. Today, the organization continues to distribute winter clothing to families across Kane County using two buses to collect, store, and deliver donations.
