The Fox Valley Veterans Breakfast Club and village government of Oswego announced March 30, that the Middle East Conflicts Wall of Honor will be in Oswego Friday, May 21, through Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. The honored Wall visit, sponsored by the Oswego Honors Veterans committee, pays tribute to the veterans of Desert Storm/Desert Shield, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
The members of the Oswego Honors Veterans committee are honored that the Middle East Conflicts Wall of Honor is coming to our community and appreciate the efforts of so many to make it happen. The memorial helps to bring healing to veterans, families, and friends of those who died defending this great country.
The Wall will be set up at Oswego Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, Oswego, and will be open to the public free of charge 24 hours a day. It will be the first time the wall has been set up outside of its home state, Oregon.
The Wall will be escorted to Oswego by the Marine Vets Motorcycle Club, as well as by Oswego area police, fire, and other agencies, May 21. An opening ceremony will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, and a closing ceremony will be for 3 p.m. Monday, May 31.
A car show, performances, and festivities, will take place throughout the 11 days of the Oswego Honors Veterans event.
