Short strokes in limited space prevails: The 162-games season in Major League Baseball is a marathon. Can the White Sox and Cubs recover, improve, and be competitive in September? • Special sports events always will hold attractions, such as the Kentucky Derby, French Open tennis, and Memorial Day auto racing. State girls softball and boys baseball will end the high school season.
