This week’s issue of The Voice is filled as usual. Still, there was a great deal which could be included, however, due to space limitations, information will wait until next week, or, not be included.
Part of the space this week has been devoted to the growing celebration of Martin Luther King (MLK) Day. See thevoice.us/a-busy-martin-luther-king-mlk-day-in-aurora-monday
Schools, clergy, service awards, well-known guest speakers, helped to make Monday evening special for more than 800 in attendance at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora.
Awards were presented to the more than 300 student participants in Day of Service at 13 sites. They received the Donna J. Williams Day of MLK Service Awards in the evening. Some of them are in the photo on page 1. April Ryan, journalist, and guest speaker has her photo on page 1. Pastor Smokie Norful’s photo is on this page. He is the founder and senior pastor of Victory Cathedral on two campuses, in Bolingbrook and in Chicago. His popularity extends to his musical prowess.
Noted: Marianne Williamson, former presidential campaigner for a year, issued an endorsement for Rachel Ventura, candidate for the Democratic Party nomination in the 11th Congressional District in northern Illinois.

Clear and concise, week three:
• Increasingly, orators on television and writers are using the word number to mean plural. Is it two, or, 22? Example: We visited a number of sites. How many? What is the number? Clarify!
• The word unique does not take a qualifier. Never use somewhat unique, or relatively unique. Unique is one of a kind. It is unique.
• Fund is a noun and not a verb. Example: The fund was increased significantly. Incorrect: We will fund the party. We must be precise and not casual.
