“Moana,” a 2016 Disney Animation Studios film, will be shown at 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, outdoors at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May Street in Aurora.
The public is invited. Admission and parking are free. Refreshments will be available. A freewill offering will be taken.
Non-perishable foods will be accepted for Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva. Most needed items are peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, oatmeal, whole grain pasta and rice cereal, dried beans and lentils, canned fruits in juice, low-sodium canned soups, sauces, vegetables, pasta sauce spices and seasonings.
The food bank serves more than 71,500 persons in 13 counties weekly through a network of local food pantries.
Refreshments will be available. A freewill offering will be taken.
Rated PG, the 107-minute “Moana” stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui, a legendary strong-willed yet easily annoyed shapeshifting demigod. He sets off with Moana, strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean to reunite a mystical relic with the goddess Te Fiti.
The 3D computer-animated musical adventure film takes inspiration from Polynesian myths.
