At the Aurora city government Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday, through the Zoom video conferencing platform, the City Council discussed an ordinance granting additional time for compliance of the Special Use for a cannabis dispensing facility at 1415 Corporate Boulevard that was granted in January.

The City Council granted NuMed Partners, LLC, a special use permit for a cannabis-dispensing facility that contained time-based conditions.

Due to the shutdowns caused by COVID-19, the State has delayed the deadline for issuing the cannabis dispensing licenses. Therefore, the petitioner is requesting additional time to obtain the conditional registration license for cannabis-dispensing facility by the State, by December 31, 2020, and commence its use as a cannabis dispensing facility within one year of the authorization of the permit extension.

Thomas Mihelic, owner of the Manpower franchise in the same building, 1415 Corporate Boulevard, explained to Aurora City Council members his concerns about COVID-19 exposure in the small waiting area in the lobby of the building.

The agenda item was agreed to be discussed further at the full City Council meeting, Tuesday, July 28.

• In a Special City Council meeting following the COW meeting, Tuesday, the Council approved a resolution to renew the $10 Million line of credit with Fifth Third Bank for one year.
