Eight new businesses opened at Fox Valley Mall just in time for holiday shopping.
Aurora mayor Richard Irvin was host to an unprecedented ribbon-cutting ceremony at the mall that featured awards presentations and a unified cutting of the ribbon followed by individual ribbon cuttings at each business.
Representing a variety of industries, the businesses include three eateries, four clothing stores, and a unique rug-making store that is the first of its kind in Illinois.
Seven of the eight businesses are minority and woman-owned, and the youngest business owner is just 23 years old.
All of the new businesses are now open at Fox Valley Mall, including eateries Noelli’s Cheesecakes, Mochii Donut, and La Katrina Michoacana, clothing stores Clark Street Sports, DDC Wraps, Jamin B. Children’s Boutique and Mila Grace Boutique, and Tuft-a-Rug, a rug-making workshop owned by 23-year-old entrepreneur Keaton Wade.
