The Naperville Police Department issued 52 seat belt citations during the recent Halloween enforcement effort.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this drive to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more vehicle occupants buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from October 17 through November 2.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.

The 52 citations were written by officers hired back by using grant funds for this campaign and do not include citations written during the time by other Naperville officers.
