NASCAR Cup Series: Bell and Byron win races

NASCAR Cup Series, Ambetter Health 400, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Atlanta Ga., Sunday, Feb. 23.

Ryan Blaney won the pole, but it was Christopher Bell who won the race. Carson Hocevar took second place, Kyle Larson third, Ryan Blaney fourth, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. fifth.

Josh Berry won the first stage.

Ty Dillon hit the wall early in second stage.

Joe Logano led most of the Stage 2.

With 11 laps to go in the second stage, Chase Elliott spun out and caused a wreck with Brad Keselowski, Chase Briscoe, and Stenhouse, Jr..

Second stage was won by Kyle Larson.

Stage 3 started with a wreck involving JJ Yeley, Cole Custer, Ty Gibbs, Daniel Suarez, and Bubba Wallace. Briscoe and Chris Buecher were involved.

There were 15 leaders throughout, but it was Christian Bell who won.

NASCAR Cup Series, Daytona 500, Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, Fla., Sunday, Feb. 16.

William Byron pulled off a miracle by being in the right place on last lap to maneuver through a wreck of the leaders to win his second Daytona 500 in a row. Following in second was Tyler Reddick, Jimmie Johnson in third, Briscoe in fourth, and John Hunter Nemecheck in fifth.

Pole position was won by Chase Briscoe.

Stage 1 started with William Byron in the lead, until 10 laps in and the rain started. The delay lasted for more than four hours.

After the restart, on lap 63, there was a wreck involving Denny Hamlin, Zane Smith, Josh Berry, and Austin Cendrick.

Joe Logano who lead most of the race won stage 1.

In the second stage there was a wreck early on lap 71 with Nemecheck, Helio Castroneves, Kyle Busch, and Martin Truex, Jr..

Second Stage was won by Ryan Blaney.

There was a wreck with 15 Laps to go in the third, which took out Logano, Kyle Busch, Blaney, Elliott, Keselowski, and Stenhouse Jr.. The melee was caused by contact between Stenhouse and Logano.

The raced restarted with just eight laps to go then. Three laps later Ryan Preece flipped his car after contact with Cole Custer.

That wreck set up a three-lap dash for the win.

With a wreck up front on last lap, Bryron came from sixth place to the front for the victory!
