NASCAR Cup Series, Straight Talk Wireless 400, Homestead-Miami Speedway Homestead, Fla., Sunday, Oct. 27.
Wow! What a finish! On the last lap of the race, Denny Hamlin was in the lead until Ryan Blaney passed him. But in the final turn, pole-sitter Tyler Reddick passed Blaney for the victory! Following in second was Blaney Hamlin in third, Christopher Bell in fourth, and Chase Elliott in fifth.
During the first lap of the race Justin Haley spun his race car.
Reddick won the first stage.
Late in the second stage, Elliott was leading Hamlin. On the 39th lap of the second stage Hamlin took the lead over Elliott. Elliott passed Hamlin against, then with nine laps to go Hamlin passed Elliot and stayed in front to win stage 2.
Beginning in stage 3 Justin Haley spun his car again, just like in stage 1. Kyle Larson was in the top five most of the day, but he lost control of his car with 12 laps to go.
Reddick eventually got to the lead for the win.
NASCAR Cup Series, South Point 400, Las Vegas Speedway, Las Vegas, Nev., Sunday, Oct. 20.
Bell won the pole, but could not hold off Joe Logano at the end of the race. Logano won, followed by Bell in second, Daniel Suarez in third, William Byron in fourth, and Alex Bowman in fifth.
Austin Dillion hit the wall with 15 laps to go during first stage. Martin Truex, Jr. was in the lead after restart with 10 laps to go, but Reddick got by in last three laps to win the stage.
Reddick’s luck didn’t continue, because in just a few laps into the second stage, his car was involved in a wreck that sent his car flipping into the infield. Brad Keselowski and Elliott were involved.
Bell won Stage 2 ahead of Truex, Jr. With 25 laps to go, Suarez was in the lead ahead of Logano. Logano took lead away from Bell with five laps to go to win the race.
Alex Bowman’s car was Disqualified from last week’s race for being 18 pounds too light after post inspection.
NASCAR Cup Series, Bank Of America Roval 400, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Charlotte N.C., Sunday, Oct. 13.
Kyle Larson led most of the laps, 60, and led the last 10 laps for his sixth victory of the season! Following in second was Bell in second place, William Byron in third, Austin Cendrick in fourth, and Elliott in fifth.
Reddick lead the pole, but by lap two, ringer, Shane Van Gisbergen, took the lead.
At the end of stage 1, Reddick was ahead of Logano to win the stage.
Chase Briscoe lost a tire in the second stage to cause a wreck in turn two, involving Keselowski and Suarez.
Stage 2 winner was Alex Bowman ahead of AJ Allmendinger. Allmendinger got passed by race winner Larson, with 45 laps to go.
Larson lead final 10 laps for the victory.
NASCAR Cup Series, YellaWood 500, Talladega Superspeedway, Talldaga, Ala., Sunday, Oct. 6.
It was a surprise victory for Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., hasn’t won in quite a while. Keselowski followed in second, William Byron in third, Larson in fourth, and Eric Jones in fifth.
Michael McDowell started on the pole position.
Bristol won the first stage.
Stage 2 winner was Austin Cendrick, and Blaney and Logano smashed into each other at the finish.
The Big One came in stage 3 with five laps. The wreck involved a record 28 cars.
In an overtime finish, Stenhouse, Jr. won the race.
