At the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday, the Board discussed and approved a third stationary food vendor license with Board president Matt Brolley’s breaking the tie 3-3 vote.
Georgie’s Chicago Hot Dogs has set up a van and tent in the parking lot owned by U-Haul at 1800 Douglas Road. Village staff members verified permission with U-Haul, whom has granted permission as long as all of the restrictions in the stationary food vendor license are followed.
Trustees Doug Marecek, Steve Jungermann, and Theresa Sperling voted against the license due to concerns of competition for neighboring brick-and-mortar restaurants.
Trustees Dan Gier, Denny Lee, and Thomas Betsinger voted yes.
President Brolley said if the owner of the property is willing to sign the application, he is okay with it.
Trustees discussed possibly authorizing the issuance of $15 Million in general obligation alternate bonds for financing a new public works facility and refunding outstanding alternate bonds of the Village and refunding the 2011 bond issue.
Village staff members are working with Williams Architects on the public works space needs analysis to determine the size and cost of a new building and will be working with Speer, a bond consultant, to determine the amount and length of payment structure. Village staff members mentioned percentage rates are historically low. Board members decided to wait for more information before voting.
