Spring sports offer as much variety as we will have all year in the high school through college and professional levels.
High schools and colleges bring Spring tournaments to determine conference champions from high-level conferences through junior colleges.
Some of the tournaments are made for television with good play and exciting finishes whether Mid-American Conference, Big Ten Conference, or junior colleges.
We have schedules released in the National Football League. The Chicago Bears Sunday, Sept. 8 with their first regular-season game, in this case, against visiting Tennessee at noon.
The Bears will play host to the Green Bay Packers at noon Sunday, Nov. 17 in Chicago, and in Green Bay in the final regular-season game, January 4/5, 2025, the 17th regular-season game. Preseason games will be reduced in the National Football League to either two or three games which reduces injuries and places a premium on regular-season games. The Bears will play host to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Nov. 24 in a noon game and in Minnesota Monday, Dec. 16. The Bears will play a Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions 11:38 a.m.. Thursday, Nov. 28.
Expectations are higher this year for the Bears with a playoff berth in view for the team.
The Bears were 7-10 last season and last qualified for the playoffs in 2020 with an 8-8 record.
Good records recently included 8-8 in both 2020 and 2019, 12-4 in 2028, and 2006, 13-3 and a berth in the Super Bowl
•Pro team draft choices will include the 2024 National Basketball Association June 26-27 with the Chicago Bulls selecting 11th
•The Chicago Blackhawks will draft second June 28 in the National Hockey League. Draft choices are opportunities with no guarantees.

•The National Basketball Association is starting conference championships. Boston against Indiana in the Eastern Conference championship and Dallas against Minnesota in the Western Conference championship.
