Nine Fox Valley area high school students have received financial assistance for higher education in the form of scholarships from Covenant Living at the Holmstad’s Resident Association Scholarship Committee. A total of $8,600 has been awarded to the students, all of whom are employees at the senior living community in Batavia.
To qualify for a scholarship, the students must have been employed by the Holmstad for at least one continuous six-month period and be working at the community at the time of their graduation. Each must submit a transcript of their grades, two teacher recommendations, and a recommendation from a counselor and a Holmstad supervisor.
“As residents at the community, we believe it is important to invest in the future of these fine students who we’ve come to know during their time here at the Holmstad,” said Carol Hecht, scholarship committee chair person. “The funds to support these scholarships are raised by residents throughout the year from the Home Store, the Holiday Bazaar, and memorial gifts to show appreciation for all the hard work these students perform.”
