North Aurora Village Board meeting 3-16-20

Director of Public Works for the Village of North Aurora, John Laskowski tells Village Board members Monday the lowest bidder for road crack sealing was Patriot Pavement Maintenance, Inc., based in Des Plaines in the amount $78,226.00. The bid is more than $1,700 under the engineer’s estimate. Funding is provided from the Motor Fuel Tax fund in the amount of $80,000. The Village has worked with Patriot paving on last year’s project and was satisfied with its performance. Village officials unanimously approved the contract. Jason Crane/The Voice
Pat Kelsey, environmental manager for Deuchler Engineering Corporation explains the Fox Metro Water Reclamation District’s request for a special use permit for a proposed pump station. The proposed pump station is on the west bank of the Fox River near the existing pump station north of I-88 which is approximately 50 years old and serves 12.17 square miles to an approximate population of 23,439. The proposed pump would increase reliability, capacity, and feature improved odor control. The current pump station can handle approximately 12.5 Million gallons per day and the proposed station can handle 32 Million gallons per day. The project is anticipated to be completed and online in 2022. The trustees were in favor of the project and should be at a future Board meeting agenda for approval. Jason Crane/The Voice
