The Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame (FVAHF) got its start during a commemoration for the Millennium. Its main objective is to give public recognition to artists associated with the Fox Valley area by birth, education, residence, or service and who have achieved national or international acclaim. The FVAHF has inducted and celebrated the lives of numerous inductees over the past 20 years.
The artists honored with induction every other year represent the visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, media arts and educator/curator/benefactor. Each must have served at least 20 years in his or her profession.
It will be the 10th class of inaugurating inductees into the Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame. This 10th class will be announced at Press Day Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 10 a.m. at the Batavia Public Library 10 South Batavia Avenue.
A black tie/formal banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Villa Olivia Banquet Hall 1401 W. Lake Street, Bartlett, to officially induct the candidates into the Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame. That evening the inductees will be awarded plaques, one of which will be hung at Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin, with all the previous FVAHF inductees from the past 10 years. You can find more information on our web page foxvalleyarts.org.
The second objective of the Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame is to ensure a strong cultural legacy for future generations.
This objective is accomplished through the organizations Founders Series. The FVAHF bi-annually sponsors arts programs in the Fox Valley area particularly helping the arts reach children.
The FVAHF is a sponsor of the Ainsworth Youth Concerts put on by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. This program was a huge success with more than 8,000 children from the Fox Valley area attending the program last Spring. The FVAHF believes that the arts are an important part of a child’s education and sponsors programs that can reach the most number of children in Fox Valley area.
