Lessons and carols, an old-English worship tradition, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 14 N. May Street in Aurora.

The public is invited. Admission, parking, and refreshments, are free.

Acclaimed Naperville harpist Nichole Luchs will provide music.

Reverend John Bell, pastor, said “Lessons and carols is a tradition begun in England at the end of the 19th Century. The service celebrates the story of God’s relationship to creation culminating in the birth of Jesus.

“The service comprises several short readings interspersed with carols. This will be a time to celebrate God with us and to raise our voices in much joyful song!”

A reception will conclude the service. Call 630-896-1033 for more information.
