Oswego High School girls softball wins State tournament Class 4A

Oswego High School girls softball team captured third place in the Saturday, June 8 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State tournament Class 4A (largest) in Pekin.

St. Charles North won the State championship. Along the way the Oswego Panthers captured tournament championships in the Oswego Regional, Plainfield North Sectional, and Illinois Wesleyan University Super-sectional in Bloomington.

In Saturday State semifinal games, St. Charles North defeated Oswego, 2-1, and Chicago Marist defeated Mundelein, 7-1. In the championship game Saturday, St. Charles North defeated Marist, 7-2. Oswego captured third place with a 12-7 victory against Mundelein.
