The Oswego Police Department made the following traffic enforcement actions issued during the recent holiday season enforcement effort.
• Fifty-one seat belts and child safety seat citations
• One suspended/revoked license
• One no insurance citations.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to reduce highway fatalities by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more persons buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from December 18, 2020 through January 3.
During the mobilization, extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
The holiday season enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
