In his second State of the Village Address, Village president, Ryan Kauffman, shared a vision of continued growth and community strength as Oswego embarks on an exciting year ahead. The address, delivered to a full room at Village Hall, celebrated the past successes and outlined key projects that will shape Oswego’s future.
“The Village of Oswego has never been stronger,” said Kauffman. “We’ve seen new businesses open their doors, our infrastructure improvements take shape, our Village budget has a surplus and property tax rates are at their lowest level on record. Our relationships with partners across the school, fire, park, library, township, county, state and federal levels have never been better. We are truly a Village on the Rise.”
The speech focused on a number of key accomplishments, including significant improvements in local infrastructure, public safety and economic development. Oswego’s fiscal responsibility has been demonstrated by a surplus in the Village budget and a continued reduction in property taxes, setting the stage for further community investments. Notable initiatives such as the DuPage Water Commission partnership, the Public Works Building project and the Wolfs Crossing Road Widening project were highlighted as vital to supporting Oswego’s growth and sustainability.
The address also placed a strong emphasis on the importance of community collaboration, pointing to the ongoing success of the Oswego Police Department’s new Community Engagement Unit and the Village’s partnerships with local organizations.
Looking ahead, Kauffman outlined the vision for continued smart development and community engagement, ensuring that Oswego’s growth will not only meet the demands of a growing population but also preserve the Village’s unique charm and sense of community.
“We are just getting started,” president Kauffman concluded. “Oswego’s strength lies in our people—our residents, our businesses, our educators and our public servants. Together, we will continue to rise.”
