No matter how you look at it, we have been through a lot;
To see something like this occurring, no one would have thought.
In fact, it hit us in the face much like a thrown pie;
And we were not prepared for it, that no one can deny.
At first, consensus thought that it would not amount to much;
And never did we think that it would have a common touch.
How many died because of that, we may not ever know;
But of and for our huge response, may recognition grow.
What we are witnessing is stunning, that we all can see;
And, sadly, no one can predict just when the end will be.
But just how much will human ego play toward this end?
There are those who will do their own thing—rules of conduct bend.
For there are those who think they are above the rest of us;
And they will do as they see fit, though it may raise a fuss.
Those who insist on doing their own thing, (at our expense),
Must also be identified not having common sense.
