This is the best imperative directive of today—
In fact, it is OUR day, our very own, in every way.
Despite our age, we know enough about it to be proud;
To bask in the traditions of it, be it long and loud.
It’s the 4th of July, a singular event when said;
Responsible, world-wide, to see the seeds of freedom spread.
The Constitution proved itself equal to every task;
Explicit ways and means for law and order pathways cast.
In every sense, this day brings with it verve and strength and hope.
Because the Constitution gives the means by which to cope.
So anarchy and tyranny distinctly have no place;
Our Constitution’s more than equal to whate’er we trace.
So, on this day, let our traditions show renewed respect;
To set our minds at ease allowing us to then reflect,
To once again stand tall—to once again show the resolve
That signifies just who we are, no task we cannot solve!
