The Rotary Club of Aurora announced the appointment of Rotarian Pam Wyeth Bellm, to serve as an ambassador on Rotary International’s president Jennifer Jones, Empowering Girls Task Force. As a long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Aurora, she has been girl-focused in leading a Days for Girls Team for the last eight years. Her team, in the Aurora area and Asheville, N. C., sews and assembles feminine hygiene kits for girls in developing countries. These kits allow girls to remain in school during their menstrual cycles.
Bellm’s team has produced nearly 14,000 kits which have shipped to 117 countries. This two-year appointment will see Pam reaching new heights empowering girls on an global scale.
Ms Bellm is a graduate of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill., and has an MBA from Aurora University. She has been an active member in Rotary for more than two decades. Her major role in the Aurora Festival of Lights holiday light show has served to make it a holiday tradition for the past 15 years.
