Plan-o Bologna Sandwich finds mayors

Bologna, Illinois Becomes Reality! The City and Chamber of Plano and Sandwich join together to bring to life the joke about “Plan-o Bologna Sandwich”. The goal is to raise funds, awareness and collect items for communities’ food pantries!

The Plano-Bologna-Sandwich (PBS0 Day committee is excited to announce it has selected the co-mayors of Bologna, Illinois Sunday, Oct. 24, during National Bologna Day. For the upcoming 5th Annual “PBS Day” the committee has chosen two prominent members of the Plano and Sandwich communities, Marlene Kee to represent Plano, and Kathy Martin to represent Sandwich

Marlene Kee and her husband, Jim ,have been long-time proprietors of K and K Design and Supplies, formerly known as The Office Works. In addition to being a prominent businesswoman, Marlene has been actively involved in promoting the Plano business community and actively involved in its affairs, as well as volunteering countless hours to other projects in and around Plano.

Similarly, Kathy Martin, the proprietor of Country Insurance and Financial Services in Sandwich has been an active individual in the Sandwich Chamber and the Sandwich business community. Kathy donates time and money for her many causes. She participates in community affairs and is a champion of the efforts of other like-minded business individuals in the Sandwich area.

The PBS Day committee is proud to have these two women represent its annual event from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., in the lot now known as “Bologna, Illinois,” between Route #34 and Burroughs Avenue off of Tara Street, between Plano and Sandwich.
