The Plano School District Board of Education and administration cordially invites the public to attend a dedication ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at Centennial School in Plano. The Board will unveil a plaque that will be placed in the vestibule of the administration office to honor the work of former superintendent and the late William (Bill) Woody.
Woody, who died October 29, 2016, was a teacher, coach, counselor, principal, and eventually superintendent of the District, 1974-2007. His vision and leadership led the District office to the current location at 800 S. Hale Street, the former site of Bingaman School. He recommended the idea for Indian Valley Vocational Center students to build the administration office, a move which was not only a financial savings for the taxpayers, but more importantly allowed the building trades students the opportunity to use the skills they had been learning in the classroom.
The School Board invites Plano Community members and other communities and education personnel to join Bill Woody’s family, for this ceremony which will honor his years of dedication to the Plano School District and the staff members and students of our community.
