Plano’s Rockin’ Christmas will be Friday, Dec. 6 in downtown Plano. The event will start the parade at 6:30 p.m. at Plano High School parking lot. The parade route will travel to Ben Street to Route 34, head out to Lakewood Springs South, Lakewood Springs North, down Main Street to downtown Plano. The parade will disperse at Main and West Streets. People can decorate their vehicles and help spread the Holiday spirit. A $10 donation per vehicle is greatly appreciated but not mandatory.
Activities include sponsoring Holiday dinner gift cards for families in the community, parade, Christmas music played by Emily G. Johns School Band, awarding the 2024 Ross Greiter Spirit Award, window decorating, and refreshments.
The committee is looking for people to sponsor local families with monetary donations for as little as $5 per person ($30 for a family of 4, $50 for a family of 6). Monetary donations will be converted to gift cards to present to families in our community.
You may drop off your monetary donations to any of the following locations: Heartland Bank, Ivana’s Café, Plano Quick Care, Plano Hometown Lanes, Little Marketa, Plano City Hall, Cielito Mexican Restaurant, Two Partners, Trendy Finds, Main Street Merchants, The Chocolate Shoppe, Uncle Lar’s, Gjovik Ford, Planet Pizza, Noir Cut & Shave, and Plano Community Library.
There will be a gathering after the parade near the Train Depot with hot chocolate, cookies, music performances by Emily G Johns Band and singers, lighting of Main Street, presentation of the 2024 Ross Greiter Rockin’ Christmas Spirit Award at 8 p.m., window decorating contest award, and pictures with the Grinch.
