Playoff success is the objective in most sports.
The Chicago Cubs as of Thursday, Sept. 21 will have 10 games remaining with the goal of qualifying for the postseason, with six teams in the National League. Qualifying for the playoffs may go down to the last game of the season, Sunday, Oct. 1 in the 162-game schedule.
In high school football, the schools off to 4-0 starts, if they continue on their paths, will receive good seeds in the playoffs which will start October 26. Among the 4-0 starts, in a nine-game schedule teams include: West Aurora and Oswego in the Southwest Prairie West; Glenbard South and South Elgin in the Upstate Eight Conference; Downers Grove North and York in the West Suburban Conference Silver; Geneva in the DuKane Conference; Immaculate Conception in the Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Chicago Catholic CCL/ESCC Orange; Cary-Grove and Prairie Ridge in the Fox Valley Conference.
