Plum Landing Retirement Community is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone in the life of one of its most dedicated and beloved employees. March 5, Plum Landing officially recognized the 90th birthday of Mary Schaibley, honoring her extraordinary 42 years of service and proclaiming the day “Mary Schaibley Day.”
For more than three decades, Mary has called The Stone House at Plum Landing her home, residing there for 31 years while devoting her career to enriching the lives of residents.
Mary first joined Plum Landing as Activity Director, quickly becoming known as the purveyor of all things fun. Her creativity and enthusiasm shaped countless outings, socials, and programs—always going far beyond the expected. Whether planning community events or introducing new activities that sparked joy and connection, Mary ensured that residents remained engaged, active, and fulfilled.
For the past 11 years, Mary has served as Plum Landing’s cherished overnight angel. During the quietest hours, when residents may feel most vulnerable, Mary has been the reassuring presence who responds to emergencies, offers comfort, and ensures that no one is ever alone.
“Mary embodies the spirit of Plum Landing,” said Jen Stark, director of community relations at Plum Landing. “Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our residents have shaped this community in ways that cannot be measured. Celebrating her 90th birthday is not only a joy—it is an honor.”
With 42 years of service—and counting—Mary continues to be a cornerstone of the Plum Landing family. The proclamation of Mary Schaibley Day recognizes her legacy of care, connection, and community that has touched generations of residents and staff.
Plum Landing Retirement Community extends its heartfelt gratitude and warmest wishes to Mary as she celebrates this extraordinary milestone.
