Poem: Enjoy Yourself

With all due respect, I do not think I’m asking too much;
For all I am asking is you have a positive touch.
Most likely, each day is predictably one of routine;
And whether it’s school, work, whatever, that’s all that is seen.
So day after day after day after day it is always the same,
You soon come to realize each day is but the same old game.
But you may not realize what else all this will bring about—
Control of your thinking is done by routines without doubt.
So free uninhibited thinking then will not exist.
And that is a precursor to all the things you have missed.
You’re now not aware of the flowers you’ve passed by the way;
The routines so strong that there isn’t much chance you would stray.
To change for the better may not be as hard as you think!
Although I’m not saying that it could be done in a blink.
By pausing to view all the beauty around you will gain
A deeper resolve to appreciate life in the main.
But changing the way that you typically think is the key;
To alter routines so you then can enjoy what you see.
