All Leprechauns are ambidextrous, with a twist;
They’re really all left-handed, a fact most often missed.
Just when you think you’ve caught one, he will throw his right—
But with his left throw pixie dust—he’s out of sight!
Not only does he vanish, your memory is gone.
You don’t remember him at all, but blunder on.
Since they are always busy, they will make some noise;
But in some homes, most any funny sound annoys,
And if those homeowners start looking for it, then
That so upsets the wee people they’ll not do it again.
But noises can’t be helped, so they will copy sound,
And nine times out of ten, you’ll think your sound is found.
So they will look for homes where noises are ignored,
Where noises are the house itself, a creaky board.
But here’s the funny part—St. Patrick’s Day, they watch!
Oh, yes, they’ll celebrate—their brews are upped a notch!
But some still question why St. Patrick gets the nod,
Since all this is on Ireland, they find that odd.
