I wish I could tell you how nice this has been,
No, really…I mean it…I’m glad I was here.
So nice that I wouldn’t know where to begin—
I’m not that familiar with what you call cheer.
I hope I’m around at this same time again,
And hope they remember me, as I will them.
I promise to be good, just as I did then,
But please understand from where my habits stem.
No way would I risk being bad, and so fail;
I give you my word that I will toe the mark.
You know I am happy when I wag my tail,
But I am not sure that you’d know by my bark!
