Politics means responsibilities now

Politics is with us every day, like it or not, we must understand. So we deal with the reality. In five months from this week the presidential elections, held every four years, will be conducted. They are important. So, too, are community and smaller elections such as zoning boards, mayorality, village presidents. All of the eligible voters in the State and in the Country must absorb the importance of voting. It is one key to our fragile democracy. All democracies have a sense of fragility because participation is essential and an element of would-be dictators seek to diminish and even eliminate.

As a whole we must stress to all potential voters to go vote and find ways to participate in government in any form. It is an obligation for all of us to understand. The alternative is unacceptable to a healthy democracy. The forefathers in today’s United States were keenly aware of these facts and their responsibilities. Owing them a debt for their service 240 to 250 years ago must not be diminished. Every United States national election to small-town board meeting is important. To some of our citizens it could appear to be tedious, however, if there are elements of truth, in the larger picture, such understanding must be real, accepted, an enacted. The suggestion here is that partisan politics is less important than the sacred vote and participation.

As a society we must become better informed so we can take reasonable actions.
