The public is invited to attend a no-cost event Friday, Feb. 2 to learn more about resources for veterans and browse veteran-owned businesses. The event will be held at Batavia VFW Post #1197, 645 South River Street in Batavia beginning at 10 a.m..
The resource fair and business showcase will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., Veterans Association leaders from the State and National levels will discuss important issues concerning the veteran community. There is no cost to attend and a free lunch will be provided to all who register on Ticket Leap at http://tinyurl.com/aad4hky7.
The Batavia VFW is a partner with the Batavia United Way, the American Legion, Kane County Veterans Assistance Commission, and the DuPage County Veterans Assistance Commission to gather important resources and information and make them easily accessible to the public via the Resource Fair.
According to Doreen Bartow, events coordinator for the Batavia VFW Post #1197, the event would benefit with more business participants.
“We are seeking additional veteran-owned businesses or businesses that offer discounts to veterans year-round to join our business showcase,” Bartow commented. “There is no cost to setup, however, we do require registration for the showcase.”
