The shooting at Henry Pratt company in Aurora brought me to tears. I prayed for all of them immediately!
But now, the anti-gun individuals will be at it again to try and remove guns from the general public. I do not own a gun, but if I did, it could sit on my dining room table for a year and not kill or shoot one single person! Guns do not shoot people! Sick individuals, and gang members shoot others! Our “beloved” governor is ready, or already has signed a bill to make it difficult if not impossible for honest gun dealers to conduct business in Illinois. It is so wrong.
He’s punishing the wrong people! A case in point:
I had a son in junior high. Some other boys were goofing off and the teacher couldn’t punish them for some reason, so he gave the whole class detention. Our son wasn’t in on the problem, but he had to stay anyway. Guess what? He missed the school bus, and we live almost eight miles from that school. My husband was still at work, and I was home with the rest of the kids, and trying to make supper. I had to put making supper on hold, get the other kids ready to go with me. I didn’t leave my kids home alone. We went to pick up this son, because he couldn’t walk eight miles home, even in good weather. It was before every kid had a cellphone.
So who was punished for someone else’s misdeed. The teacher punished the kids who needed it, but our son was punished, I was punished, and I wasn’t even in the classroom! Our family was punished because supper was way late. What is that? Guilt by association? Having a kid in a teacher’s class, who can’t discipline the wrongdoer, or wrongdoers was the result.
This gun problem is so like a stone thrown in a pond. The many ripples affect so many, but the bad guys are the ones who should be punished, not the every-day honest citizens, Mr. (JB) Pritzger!
