The “Chas,” as Charles Coddington refers to himself (in the third person is a quirkiness that defines him better than any combination of words could ever describe. I’ve only known one other person with this affliction, and he, just as Charles, was full of “it.” But not only is “The Chas” full of it, he also suffers from two other maladies: Dunning Kruger effect syndrome and Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). TDS is self explanatory. Democrats have suffered from this illness since 2015. The Dunning Kruger effect is a cognitive dysfunction where people overestimate their competence. They hope to win arguments with what they already know is bull doo doo, through misdirection. In order to believe they can win arguments this way, they have to pretend, to themselves, the people they are attempting to disinform are lacking in understanding and insight. They purposefully underestimate the mental acuity of the reader or they would never write the crap they want you to believe.

Case in point No. 1: After the October 7, 2023 attack against Israeli citizens who were attending a concert, The Chas tried to school us that the term “antisemitic” was not an appropriate word to use describing the attitudes of people who hated Jews. He went on, in a The Voice article, to describe his objection to the use of the word “antisemitic,” while completely ignoring the atrocities of the October 7, attack on Jewish civilians by Hamas. The Chas’ slight of hand was to detour the conversation in a different direction, and away from the greatest concerns most human beings had about the horrific terrorist attack, which were the atrocities of babies that were beheaded and dismembered, men tortured to death, and the women raped and murdered. But rape and murder were not enough for the women. Their naked bodies were dragged behind automobiles through the streets of Gaza. They were used as trophies for all to see.

Coddington didn’t want readers to focus the horror of that day on Hamas. He wanted to isolate the discussion to the misuse of a word: Antisemitism. The Chas was distracting the reader from the depravity of the day by explaining how wrong it was to use the word antisemitism to describe Jewish hatred. (Continued below)

Case in point No. 2: Coddington’s article in the September 25, 2025 issue of The Voice does a very similar diversion of attention I explain above. He shows no remorse for the assassination of Charlie Kirk or his family. He has no blame for the perpetrator. He skims over all of what so many people regarded as a heinous crime. He makes no mention of the mother of Charlie Kirk’s two children witnessing the slaughter of her husband. The first thing The Chas says to the reader: “The MAGA crowd did not hesitate to raise a hue-and-cry over allowing the perpetrator to live one second longer than yesterday. They don’t want justice; justice is for bleeding hearts, don’t you know. They want instead vengeance in the form of a hanging from the nearest tree.”

What “The Chas” does is blame the victims of the crime. He doesn’t mention there was no violence, looting, or arson. He doesn’t mention the prayer vigils in honor of Charlie. He doesn’t mention that Erica Kirk said she forgave the shooter for killing her husband, going into detail she could not function as a responsible mother unless she gave all of the anger to God. Coddington doesn’t mention the Democrats in Congress refused a moment of silence. He doesn’t mention all of the Democrats in Congress who refused to condemn the assassination.

Coddington is a liar by omission.
