I began writing to The Voice because of the horrific things I came across in the editorial/opinion sections of this publication. I wanted to push back against the hatred, the shameful name calling, the lies and fabrications contained on some of these pages. So I asked Carter Crane (rest in peace), owner and publisher in those days, if he would consider some sanity in the editorial sections to replace the vitriol of Wayne Johnson, who wrote of his desire to see Donald Trump dragged through the streets as Benito Mussolini had been after his assassination. To my surprise, Carter welcomed my input. I’ve been a contributor ever since Carter opened that door for me. Carter was a man who believed in fairness and the first amendment. He welcomed my opposing opinions, even if he didn’t always agree with them. I had respect for Carter for this reason alone.

I haven’t seen the level of malevolence in this or any other newspaper, or in our country, then what I’m witnessing today. The Vietnam era wasn’t this vicious nor the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. It was unbelievable and very sad for me to witness Charlie Kirk, a young Christian man, murdered in cold blood. Charlie’s message for America’s youth has been to reach out to each other in peaceful dialogue. Ironically, he became victim of the very hate he was attempting to subdue.

I shouldn’t be surprised Charlie was assassinated. He was a champion to those who had been intimidated into silence by professors and other students only because they believed in America. Charlie understood the objective differences between men and women. He gave hope to those who believed in God, family, country and to those who were made to hide their thoughts from University culture. American universities are places of indoctrination where you must think woke and Jewish students are blocked from their classes and intimidated by slogans such as “From the River to the Sea.” Leftist Democrats have become intolerant, entrenched, resistant and hostile to ideas and people who oppose them. Our schools no longer teach how to think. They teach what to think.

The radicalization of America’s youth, Charlie fought against, has been conducted in the very places where freedom of speech should flourish: Our universities. Main stream media indoctrinates and repeats over and over the ideologies of marxism and communism. They lead the Left’s campaign for the destruction of our freedom and system of government. Media’s strategy for the dismantling of America is to intimidate, dehumanize and destroy anyone who stands in their way. They deal in character assassination and villainization. (See Russian collusion for details). They do not run on ideas for the betterment of our country. They run in opposition to anything American including our anthem and flag. This is done 24/7 for optimum effect. When president Donald Trump and those close to him are called Nazis, white supremacists, fascists, rapists, racists, and bigots long enough, they become realities in the minds of the disturbed and impressionable. A lie repeated a thousand times, becomes the truth.

So Leftist Democrats, who indulge in dehumanizing their opposition, effectively place a bullseye on president Trump, on Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh, on Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representative Steve Scalise, and now on Charlie Kirk. Leftist Democrats will tell you “words are not violence.” “Only violence is Violence.” But understand, nothing happens in a vacuum.

You didn’t see riots, molotov cocktails, lootings, shootings, cars, and buildings on fire after Charlie’s assassination, did you? You saw prayer vigils. You saw people who believed in what Charlie stood for, behaving as Charlie would have wanted them to behave… peacefully!
