When Spring arrived I found I have a greater appreciation for the Fox Valley Park District. I did not fully understand how the organization serves the population of Aurora and the surrounding areas.
I encourage everyone to take a ride throughout the Park District area just to look at the property involved and how beautiful it is. Miles of trails, Blackberry Farm, Splash Country, beautiful parks, and the Orchard Valley Golf Course.
I am sure I have forgotten some, but they are beautiful and so well-maintained along with our River banks. Go take a look at the garden center on the West Side that makes our parks and venues look so great. The community centers provide so much for everyone. Recently, I went to a great play put on by our youngsters and saw all the artwork done by the pre-schoolers. Basketball, camps, dance and music lessons, and indoor swimming and more all for our kids. Senior trips and the Club for Seniors provide so much for us to get out and feel a part. I went with the Park District to Milwaukee and the State Fair. Very much in my budget and had a great time. I so enjoy the senior group in the warm water pool at Vaughan Center. There is no excuse for Aurorans to be out of shape with all the exercise equipment.
While helping out at the Fox River clean-up day April 13, I saw all the equipment that is needed to keep the District looking good. The best part of the day was seeing everyone hanging out in the big garage on picnic tables, getting along, and having a great lunch.
I urge everyone to research the vast amount of provision supplied by the Fox Valley Park District from property to indoor services. It sure made me less critical of what they do. Once you realize it, give the Cole Center a call and thank them.
See you all at the Mid-American Canoe Race June 2, sponsored by the Fox Valley Park District.
