Dear editor;
In this bitter cold snap, I have a bit of advice to make starting your car a bit safer. Before getting into the car, bang on the hood a couple of times. Small animals hide under the car hoods to keep out of the wind. Banging on the hood may scare them out.
As a teenager, I worked in a garage. We used to get service calls from those who could not get the car started. Many times we would get there just to find a small animal caught in the fan belt, thus keeping the car from starting.
