Dear editor;
I thought I was done writing editorials after Donald Trump won the 2024 election. The Democrats seemed to come around and in some circles kind of realized all of the name calling of Trump was doing nothing but making him more popular. Boy was I wrong. After licking their wounds from the election, they went right back to the old playbook of name calling and hatred for Trump because they have nothing to offer the American public.
The American people are tired of it except for the 28% that thought Joe Biden was more than an empty shell. All of the lying by Democrats about Russian collusion, the dossier, Hunter Biden’s laptop, the border is secure, and most importantly, the Biden presidency.

I don’t ever want to hear about January 6 (one day) as our worst day in history, compared to (four years) with no elected president running the country. Talk about a real threat to democracy.
Apparently there are polls being reported that state Republicans are much healthier than Democrats when it comes to their well being. The common phases that seem to accompany most articles today are disinformation or no evidence of proof.
I’m not much into polls because all you need to do is phrase the question and ask the right people to get the right numbers that you want. But I can tell you this, when I watch MSNBC, CNN, and FOX News, the left is definitely having a very hard time coping with the world today.
The left defends boys in girls sports; illegal immigration (don’t confuse that with legal immigration); rioters/protesters can wear masks, but not law enforcement; due process to deport, but not due process to enter; life-changing transgender surgery on minors, not talking about adults; sanctuary cities; and the list goes on and on. These are all things that can’t be argued for, with common sense and logic. This may be where the above poll chimes in as accurate.
The new rally cries are about how (illegal) immigration is being enforced, how bad the tariffs are going to be, the stock market is tanking, the military is taking over our country, free speech will be forever gone, our slush funds are being taken away, people are losing their jobs, we’re at war with Iran, and now we have a king.
If the people running the country the previous four years had not let 15 to 20 million un-documented immigrants in, we wouldn’t be talking about this. Had they used due process as with legalized ones, it would be a much smaller number.
The tariffs are starting to work their way out. The stock market closed June 27 at 44,125.
The military kept Los Angeles from burning down and people are still talking freely about it.
Now colleges and government are losing their slush funds. If you’re a employer and losing money, you cut jobs or go under.
Many presidents have taken action without Congress approval and no cries of war or impeachment, but their name was not Trump.
Last but not least, only Democrats call Trump king. We Republicans would never vote someone to be king because we fought so hard to get away from one. A king rules over the whole country, presidents about half.
Maybe quit calling at least half of the country names because he was elected to do what he said he would do; quite different than any other president. Quit trying to argue against logic and common sense, quit listening to Trump haters because his name is Trump. Maybe wait to judge him on the results of his actions. The glass can be half full, rather than half empty.
Respectfully,
Bob Mangers, veteran, Yorkville
