Dear editor;
It certainly was a beautiful weekend. One of many, we hope. Across the street, the family was out flying kites. Some time later, the family next door had a busy back yard, with a bunch of youngsters having a great time, among other things, chasing bubbles.
This four score-plus old guy was so pleased to see it.
Then, I thought of the country as a whole and what those happy children are going to face in the future. So much disagreement, hate, and division at this time.
It is a dream of mine that we could at least be civil with one another. Of course we disagree, but we must remember that the younger generation composes the most important part of our lives, and who we are actually voting for at the polls.
Don’t waste your precious time with hate and distrust. Maybe you are unhappy. Do not toss away your right by staying home on Election Day because nobody appeals to you, or write in a silly name. Give the election the time and thought it deserves.
