Reader’s Voice: Habitat restoration at Bliss Woods

A habitat restoration work day will be held at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 25. Honeysuckle and other invasive woody plants will be targeted for removal in addition to seed collecting and dispersal. Tools will be provided, but feel free to bring loppers and hand cutters.

Bliss Woods is a beautiful, high-quality woodland host to many unusual plants. Removing invasive species will help sustain its unique nature.

Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves. We will meet at the in the parking lot of Templo Belen at 42w635 Kedeka Road.
