Dear editor;
As the Spring Election is in full swing, the League of Women Voters-Aurora Area is conducting forums for area candidates in the contested races for Mayor of Aurora and various offices in Kane and Kendall counties.
Forums are designed to provide a safe space for candidates to share their views on issues of importance to the voting public.

The League of Women Voters strives to promote an opportunity for information to be presented in a nonpartisan, neutral setting that benefits the voting public. A candidate forum can be seen as a job interview. Campaign stops, meet-and-greets, ads, flyers, and door-knocking absolutely do not serve the same purpose.
A Candidate Forum for the Aurora Mayoral Primary will be held Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Aurora Police Department, 1200 E. Indian Trail, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m..
The Aurora Mayoral Candidate Forum will be held Monday, March 10, at the downtown Santori Library. Both are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., will be open to the public, and will be available on our website, LWVauroraarea.org. Please see our website for dates and times of additional forums.
