Dear editor;
When you were little and made a mess, what happened? Mom or Dad walked in and exclaimed, What on earth have you been doing? Or What is this mess you’ve made? Either way, you were expected to clean it up. You learned to accept responsibility and accountability for mistakes you made. Not so the case with our dear leader, Mr. Donald Trump.
Under the guidance of his father, a lying conniving racist real estate broker in New York City, a ruthless teacher Roy Cohn, and a lack of love from his mother, Donald J. Trump grew up without any of the guidance one should expect from his parents.
Roy Cohn taught him to always lie, never back down, when given a punch to punch back harder; never admit you’re wrong; get the cheapest labor, usually from immigrants, and don’t pay what you owe in the end; if they squeal, threaten them to take what they get or get nothing at all. Always blame someone else for any mess you make; never admit you made a mistake; never clean up your messes and lie that you made them in the first place.
That is where we are with this man a second time around, worse than the first. He says that tariffs are a beautiful word, but he doesn’t know how to use them in a beautiful way. He shouldn’t be assigning tariffs anyway, that’s Congress’ job. Did you notice he didn’t apply any tariffs to Russia, I mean his buddy Vladimir Putin. Trump says he wants peace for Ukraine, but Putin started the war and keeps on bombing its civilians even on Palm Sunday, but still no tariffs or sanctions for Russia.
I think we’re all learning in real time just how dangerous to the world this man is. He doesn’t care how he hurts us paying the increased tax tariffs on everything we buy. DOGE and Elon Musk are firing federal workers and ripping apart programs we have counted on to survive, everything from Medicaid, Social Security, the Post Office, anything Trump wants to privatize to give a permanent tax cut to billionaires in one big beautiful bill.
Trump is ruling like a king. If you’re brown with a tattoo, off to CENCOT you go with no due process while he pays El Salvador $6,000,000 of our tax money to imprison you. Trump said he was rounding up only the worst criminals for that, but he lied; Trump promised free IVF, but he lied; as Climate Change increases the severity of storms and tornadoes and your town has been devastated, Trump ends FEMA. He’s already ended NOAA, which could have told you a bad storm was on its way.
Trump ignores due process in America. If you say or write something he doesn’t like, he has you picked up off the street and imprisoned. Rule of law is the foundation of our justice system. If you’re accused of a crime, you are still innocent until proven guilty. Not in Trump’s world. Remember he promised retribution to anyone who isn’t loyal or loyal enough to him.
While Trump spends 20 millions of our dollars golfing, we’ve lost trillions of dollars in our 401K and other retirement funds. He’s an incompetent fool and leading us into a recession. He has no game plan, no great chess move. Wake up and face reality before the rule of law no longer applies to you too!
