Dear editor;
Commentator Bill Suhayda in his commentary August 7, claims that the Democratic Party has been taken over by communists, anti-Semites, anti-Americans, and subversives, and consequently, the Democratic Party today is unrecognizable. It is “unrecognizable”, I suggest, because the Democratic Party that he describes exists only in his mind.
Further on he writes the names of prominent Democrats and concludes, concerning the country, those Democrats “believe we are rotten to the core”, that Democrats “have been taught to hate this country we love.” Again, his conclusions are untrue, but his anger and vitriol toward his fellow Americans, whom he himself tends to separate between “us” and “them” is obvious.
What Suhayda calls “mainstream media” or MSM is also targeted as a communist/socialist conspiracy and is therefore not to be trusted, which makes me wonder why he believes that to be the case and in turn, where in fact does he get the information utilized for his commentaries; its source might shed light on both his and our own prejudices.
