A new record. That was set by State representative Stephanie Kifowit’s 12th annual community recycle and shred day Saturday, July 13.
Kifowit said, “We saw a record turnout, with residents from all over the area coming together to responsibly recycle and securely shred their documents. This year we served nearly 400 constituents, with over 200 cars coming through in the first hour!
“We collected over 500 books, over 100 (eye) glasses, 33 phones and tablets, four pallets of recycled electronics and thousands of pounds of paper shredding for recycling!”
Volunteers represented event sponsor KCT Credit Union and YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago.
