September 10,
Dear editor;
I am writing in response to my survey that arrived in the mail recently. Stop this mud-slinging. After the election is over, you should not campaign for the next election. Your job is to run the government. You should do what they do in Canada and have no more campaigning until four months prior to the election through debates on television, newspapers, and other methods.
Look at the money that can be saved by only four months of campaigning. It would help pay for education tuition and other expenses. It costs $200,000 per hour to operate Air Force One.
If U.S. costs continue to rise, it will be the song in the 1950s by Ernie Ford: “You load 16 tons and all you get is one day older and deeper in debt.”
