Friends of the Fox River (FOFR) will be host to a presentation that will help answer questions about residential solar panel costs and incentives, at the Schweitzer Environmental Center, (SEC) from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14. The program is free to the public. SEC is at 16N900 Sleepy Hollow Road, West Dundee, in the Schweitzer Forest Preserve.

Jennifer Grommes, the head of the FOFR canoe/kayak river cleanup program and a representative of Blue Raven Solar installation, will discuss leasing versus purchase of a solar system, net metering, insurance, and installation. Make a reservation for this program by calling 815-356-6605 or visit the FOFR website friendsofthefoxriver.org/event/answering-the-myths-about-solar.

Grommes will expose the myths that plague clean energy, including the fallacy that there aren’t enough hours of sunlight in Illinois. Have you wondered if the cost of solar energy has plunged as so many people are having it installed to combat climate change? Those who attend this program discover why more individuals are taking a load off the grid and going solar.
