The Village of Oswego is advising residents that rifle salutes are planned as a part of Oswego Honors Veterans activities happening at Oswego Village Hall Saturday, May 22, and Memorial Day, Monday, May 31.

A rifle salute is expected at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, during the opening ceremonies for the Middle East Conflicts Wall of Honor.

The second salute is expected at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, during closing ceremonies.

The sound may be heard throughout parts of Oswego near Village Hall. The salutes do not use live rounds of ammunition and do not pose a danger to the community.

Both the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as several other concerts, a car show, street dance and more, are free and open to the public from May 21 through May 31 as a part of Oswego Honors Veterans. The community is invited to attend and show their support for the veterans of our community.
