Scott Shelton, left, representative for homebuilder Ryan Homes, answers questions by trustees at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. Ryan Homes is seeking the Board’s approval for new home plans to be included in an annexation agreement amendment to the Balmorea Subdivision in Montgomery. Ryan Homes plans to build 204 homes in the subdivision where construction stopped during the recession. The Board sounded interested in passing the amendment at a future meeting. •Approved was an ordinance in response to the Small Wireless Facilities Deployment Act passed by the Illinois General Assembly June 1. The ordinance will attempt to help the Village regulate telecom companies when they install antenna equipment to transmit 5G wireless signals for the next generation cell phones. • Discussion continued about the best percentage increase in water rates. Trustees are considering a 3% to 5.5% increase in the annual water rate to cover future expenses. President Matt Brolley said no matter what option the Village goes with, Montgomery still charges less than neighboring communities. Jason Crane/The Voice
