NASCAR Cup Series, Cook Out 400, Richmond Raceway, Richmond, Va., Sunday, July 30.
Late in the race two Rosch Fenway Fords of Brad Keselowski and Chris Buesher fought for first place, but Kesolowski was involved in a crash and Buesher came out the victor. Following in second place was Denny Hamlin Kyle Busch in third, Joey Logano in fourth, and Ryan Presse in fifth. The first stage was won by Tyler Reddick. The second stage was won by Brad Keselowski over Chris Buesher with no cautions.
Buescher took the lead over Martin Truex, Jr. with 50 laps to go. Denny Hamlin was in third with. Keselowski led much of this race. Buesher was in the lead when a caution brought out a restart with four laps to go with Hamlin at his side.
Buesher got a good restart and Hamlin did not. A wreck back in the field took out teammate Keselowski, AJ Allmendinger, and with three others on the last lap 500 feet from the finish. Chris Buesher won.
NASCAR Xfinity Series, Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wis., Saturday, July 29.
The race had three cars from the Milwaukee area and one from Illinois. The race was won by Sam Mayor of Franklin, Wis.. Following in second place was Parker Kligerman, Austin Hill in third, Sage Karam in fourth, Riley Herbst in fifth.
The early leader, who led for more than half the race, was Justin Allgaier from Lincoln, Ill..
Sam Mayor was running in fifth and got to third near the end when Allgaier’s car got loose-slipped off the track to allow Mayor to get to second. Less than a lap later Mayor got to first place to take the victory.
It was Mayor’s first Xfinity victory.
NASCAR Cup Series, Highpoint.com 400, Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa. Sunday, July 23.
William Byron won the pole position with Hamlin winning the final stage over Truex Jr.. Following in third was Tyler Reddick, Kevin Harvick in fourth, and Ty Gibbs in fifth.
Logano led most of first stage and beat Truex, Jr. to win the stage.
Logano and Danual Suarez hit and spun on the start of stage 2. Both cars received some damage.
Later in stage 2 Logano collided with into Reddick and Kyle Larson spun after being tagged in the rear.
Chris Bell spun out with only four laps left in the stage. Larson won second stage under caution.
Truex and Hamlin shared the lead in most of stage 3. Lajoie was leading when Chris Bristole spun with help from Ty Dillon with 18 laps to go. Bowman spun from third position with 11 laps to go and Justin Halley spun out with six laps to go. Denny Hamlin won his 50th victory and his seventh victory at Pocono!
NASCAR Cup Series, Crayon 301, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, N.H., Monday, July 16.
Rain delayed the Sunday race until Monday. Truex, Jr. led 256 laps of the 301 lap-race and won. Following in second was Logano, Larson in third, Harvick in fourth, and Keselowski in fifth,
Truex Jr. won the first and second stages of the race.
William Byron led nine laps, but finished 24th. Allmirola was challenging for the lead on lap 169 when right rear tire came off and his car crashed into the wall. Truex, Jr. held off local favorite driver, Logano, in three restarts in the final 25 laps.
Truex, Jr. dominated the field for the victory.
