Saul Alinsky was a community activist/organizer and a self proclaimed socialist/communist in the 1960s on the south side of Chicago. Barack Obama followed in Alynsky’s footsteps decades later. He authored “Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals,” a book Obama carried in his hip pocket as reference material or perhaps a political primer while doing social work in Chicago. Obama took Alynsky’s book with him to the White House.
Alinsky didn’t mentor Obama directly. They never met. Still Alinsky had his effect on Obama. It was Alinsky’s disciples, still in Chicago, who trained Obama in the mid to late 1980s in the art and science of community organizing. Hillary Clinton wrote a college thesis on Alinsky. It is available online for anyone who wants to know what direction she was taking during her undergraduate work. It’s unfortunate, Alinsky’s reach exceeded his grasp.
If you want to know a person well, look to see with whom they surround themselves. Another way is to know what they are reading or to what they’re listening. Looking to see what a person has written or what they do are the best ways to know who they are and what they believe. I read Obama’s book “Dreams of my Father” in the summer of 2008, I knew not to vote for him.
Alinsky’s book is as close as we can ever get to who he was. He died in 1971. His book isn’t exactly “The Communist Manifesto,” but it does clearly spell out the steps by which modern day socialist/communists can implement the destruction of our free enterprise economic system and turning us into a society of dependent surfs at the mercy of big controlling government.
Look below to find six levels of control Alinsky said would turn our country into a socialist/communist hell hole. See if you can identify how each of the six steps is used today so that big government becomes the only answer to every problem.
•Healthcare: Alinsky wanted government controlled health care. Why? To control it. Do we all remember Obama Care?” aka “The Affordable Care Act?” It’s unaffordable! Pelosi said “We have to pass Obama Care to see what was in it?” Obama told us we could keep our plans and our doctors. He lied. But worse yet, premiums for health care, for the average American, doubled and tripled. Obama Care was never going to work and Obama knew it. But we became dependent on government health care…didn’t we.
•Poverty: Alinsky advocated to increase poverty levels through joblessness and taxation. Those without jobs would get government assistance (welfare). People on welfare wouldn’t bite the hand that feeds them. They would be loyal and vote for those who give them even more money. Women without men in the house would get more welfare. Children would grow up without fathers. Government dependence would destroy families creating even more dependence.
•Gun control: Alinsky wanted gun control, saying people need government for protection (more police) government dependence again. And you’re not able to defend yourself.
•Education: Alinsky believed public schools should control what is learned (curriculum). No tax credits for private education meant most people couldn’t afford to send children to private schools. This created dependence on government schools.
•Religion: Alinsky discouraged a belief in God so government would become the ultimate authority, not God. Dependence on Big Brother, not God. Remember Joe Biden going after Catholics, and on Christmas?
•Create class warfare: Alinsky advocated chopping society into the haves and have nots, along racial, gender, immigrant, non-immigrant lines. These are ways to divide and conquer. Alinsky didn’t offer solutions. He offered welfare programs to purchase votes.
